Superb mountain-side villa built in a modern rustic, open-plan style, flooded with light and sunshine and with outstanding views. A quiet country track leads to the property, which is completely fenced and entry is through an electric gate. A south facing property providing stunning views from all three bedrooms and living spaces across to the Mediterranean, Northern Africa and the Rock of Gibraltar. The living spaces Â– kitchen, dining room and two sitting rooms Â– situated on the lower level and built as one long, continuous open and light-filled interior with spectacular views through sliding or shuttered window doors. Floors are traditional terracotta tiles. The kitchen has a breakfast counter, all appliances, and a spacious pantry. The living room opens on one side to the swimming pool and a terrace with ancient olive trees, and on the other side to a covered outdoor dining area, shaded with bougainvillea, wisteria and hibiscus. A small corridor leads from the living room to a guest cloakroom and a fully equipped laundry room. There are two main wings to the upper part of the villa. From the entrance hall, one wing has a large atrium which serves as a library/reading room, staircase leading to the master bedroom with a dressing room, sitting area, en-suite bathroom and large balcony views to mountains, sea and across to Africa and Gibraltar. The second wing of the house has two double, en-suite bedrooms and large built-in wardrobes. One bedroom has a balcony and the other has a Juliet balcony. A comfortable all year round home, with shutters and thick walls to keep cool during the summer months, and two wood fires (one wood burner, one open fireplace) plus gas-fired central heating for the short winter. The garden and grounds have lovely plants typical of the region Â– and a variety of trees, lime, ancient olive, figs, carobs, pines and cypresses. The whole property is secluded and private, and almost invisible from the road. Only 5 minutesÂ’ drive from the village of Gaucin and 45 minutes to the coast or to the cultural centre of magnificent Ronda.
